Lean Pathways President and Book Author Pascal Dennis to Receive Fourth Shingo Award

The Remedy: Bringing Lean Thinking out of the Factory to Transform the Entire Organization to receive the 2012 Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award.

Lean Pathways Inc. is pleased to announce that President and author Pascal Dennis will be honored with the prestigious Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award for his latest book The Remedy. This prize is awarded to authors who advance the Lean body of knowledge into new areas and promote a broad understanding of operational excellence.

The Remedy is the sequel to Pascal’s classic business novel, Andy & Me, which won the 2005 Shingo Prize.  The Remedy is a compelling business fable that shows how Lean quality improvement business practices -- traditionally associated with manufacturing -- can dramatically improve the service areas of business including design, engineering, sales, marketing and all processes in between.

“I'm honored to receive the Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award for The Remedy,” said author Pascal Dennis. “Lean thinking is moving beyond the factory -- into sales, marketing, design, supply chain, and customer service.  It's exciting work and I'm lucky to be part of it.

Three of Dennis’ previous books to have received the distinguished Shingo Prize include Andy & MeLean Production Simplified: A Plain-Language Guide to the World’s Most Powerful Production Systemand Getting the Right Things Done.

Dennis will be honored at the 24th Annual Shingo Prize Awards Gala taking place at the International Conference, May 7-10, 2012. The Awards Gala marks the conclusion of a four-day lean principle-centered event featuring a strategic selection of workshops, plant tours, keynote speakers and breakout sessions.
